LONDONDERRY, NH: Joyce E. (Abolin) (Plourde)Allen, age 62, a Londonderry, NH resident for 15 years, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Elliott Hospital in Manchester, NH, following a courageous battle with cancer, with her family by her side.
She was the wife of John T. Allen, with whom she would have celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary on August 11, 2009.
Born in Marlboro, MA on August 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Jeanne (Bean) Abolin.
Joyce was raised in Northboro, MA, attended Northboro schools and graduated for the Algonquin Regional High School.
Prior to her illness, she was employed for 27 years by the Raytheon Corporation in Andover, MA.
She previously worked as a consultant for the Pampered Chef Catering Company in Londonderry, NH.
Joyce enjoyed knitting, quilting and baking. In addition, she loved traveling to Maine with her husband to visit Acadia National Park and dining at area seafood restaurants.
In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by two daughters, Melissa J. Lowe and her husband Michael of Ashburnham and Karen L. Lambert and her husband Stephen of Rockport; one brother, Keith Abolin of Northboro; three sisters, Sandra Sardam of Northboro, Kathleen Abolin of Nashua, NH and Michelle Carr of Londonderry, NH; five grandchildren, Robert C., William M. and Richard A. Lowe and Michael S. Collard, and Courtney V. Lambert; also many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was the sister of the late Beverly Buisson.
Calling hours Monday, May 11th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Tuesday, May 12th, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 are suggested.
