Vira E. Tilson, 72, of Water Valley, MS passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at her daughter’s residence in Water Valley, MS. She was born in Macel, MS on September 18, 1936 to the late Walter Hinze and Melinda May Goodwin Gibson. She made a career of nursing, a vocation she loved dearly. She delivered many babies and saved many lives throughout the years.
The funeral service will be held in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 7, 2009 with Bro. Bobby Murphy officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Magnolia Gardens in Charleston, MS.
Mrs. Tilson is survived by two daughters, Linda Kilgore of Water Valley, MS and Carol Meeks of Charleston, MS; one sister, Mary Dell Goldsby of Millington, TN; four grandchildren, Michael Burns of Oxford, MS, Jennifer Edwards of Holly Springs, MS, Larry Hughes, Jr. of Oxford, MS and Christopher Hughes of Calhoun City, MS; four great grandchildren, Kayla Burns, Abby Burns, Michael Edwards, Nicholas Edwards; and one nephew, Greg Goldsby of Millington, TN.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Hinze Gibson, Jr. and Wallace Earl Gibson.
