Delores Nelson, 74, Clarksville, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Jerkins officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 2, 1934 in Sumter, South Carolina. Ms. Nelson was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Joe" Smith, three sons, Norman Nelson, Charles Nelson, and John Miller; and a daughter Patricia "Ann" Nelson. Survivors include two sons, Ray Miller (Joann), Georgia; and Vincent Miller, New York; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
