Luigi “Gino” Veri, 93 of Somerville, died Monday after a brief illness in the Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA.
Born in Italy, he lived in Somerville since 1963 and formerly of Italy. Gino was the son of the late Maria (Moretti) and Matteo Veri He was a Meat Cutter, at the former General Packing Co. in Somerville for 16 years and retired in 1979. Luigi was a member of the Associazione Nazionale Marinai D'Italia of Boston.
Beloved husband of Elodia (DiPiero) Veri. Devoted father of Pio “Peter” Veri and his wife Jackie of Wilmington. Loving grandfather of Matteo “Matt” Veri and his fiancé Samantha, and Giustino “Justin” Veri. Brother of Alfredo Veri and Teresa Nenna both of Italy.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. Medford at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8.
Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
