Holden--James W. Nadon, 83, of Holden, died Friday, July 4, at Autumn Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Margaret J. (Peaslee) Nadon of Holden; two sons, Barry Nadon of West Brookfield and Jack B. Nadon of Georgia, a daughter, Kimberly J. Reeves of Worcester; a step-son, Brett R. Boucher of Worcester; 2 sisters, Shirley Tardif of New York, and Lois Curtis of Florida; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, 4 sisters, and 1 step-son predeceased him. He was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, son of Wilfred and Emma (Cook) Nadon. He graduated from Laconia Tilton Academy in New Hampshire and later moved to Holden, where he lived for 30 years.
Mr. Nadon was a mechanical engineer at the former Heald Machine Company for 44 years, retiring 13 years ago. Early in his career, he worked as a chief engineer in England. He was a member of Greendale People’s Church, and the John Matthew Whittall Lodge of Masons in Shrewsbury. He enjoyed golf and fly fishing.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Greendale Peoples Church, 25 Francis Street. A graveside service will be in Hope Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9.
