Obituary

Peter Kudriavetz, Jr., 90, of Carver died May 4, 2009 at home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Elizabeth T. (Taylor) Kudriavetz.
Born in Springfield, Vermont, the son of the late Peter and Zena (Lahvanovich) Kudriavetz, he lived most of his life in Marion and Mattapoisett, before moving to Carver in 1994.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Marion.
Mr. Kudriavetz was employed by Acushnet Company, Rubber Division, in various positions in management and engineering for 25 years until his retirement. While at Acushnet Company, he had several inventions including the K coupling which was patented and is used worldwide. Prior to that, he had worked at J.C. Rhodes for 10 years.
Mr. Kudriavetz was a member of the Pythagorean Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Marion. He also served in the Air Force during World War II, and flew 65 combat missions as an aerial gunner with the 8th and 9th Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Susan Rose of Florida and upstate New York and Ellen Stich of Laguna Hills, California; 2 stepsons, Gary Randall of Portland, Maine and David Randall of Brockton; a stepdaughter, Karen Randall of Acushnet; a sister, Sophie Allen of Rhode Island; 4 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Stephen Kudriavetz, Valentina Cornell and Elizabeth Pack.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 9th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, MA 02360 or The Michael J.
