Edward R. Marrese, 77 years, of South Easton, died at the Brockton Hospital early Sunday morning from complications of emphysema. He was the husband of Barbara H. (Murphy) Marrese for 55 years.
He was born in Brockton, son of Gabriel and Philomena (Russo) Marrese, and had lived in South Easton for the past 35 years. He served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II as a 2nd Class Petty Officer performing in a position of aerial gunner.
He was a liquor sales representative for 40 years, retiring in 1991 from United Liquors Ltd.
He belonged for many years to the Sons of Italy, the Whitman VFW, he was a member of the Brockton Country Club for 40 years and was recently made an honorary member. He was also a member of Holy Cross Church, South Easton.
Besides his wife Barbara H. (Murphy) Marrese, he leaves a son Ted Marrese and his wife Ann of Brockton, a granddaughter Gena Marrese and Ann Marrese’s two sons Sean and Bryan Galligan. He was the brother of the late Albert, Tony, Andrew and Viola Marrese.
