Obituary

DRACUT, MA - Bertha "Betty" Alice (Barclay) Tolksdorf, 83, of Dracut, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at her home. Born on May 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Marguerite (Noonan) Godbout. She was the widow of the Rudolf Tolksdorf who died in 1992.

Mrs. Tolksdorf graduated from the former St. Charles High School in Waltham. She worked as a stitcher for Farnsworth Co. in Lowell for 17 years and for AMI Co. in Andover for 8 years until her retirement.

She was a member of the Mother's Club of the Lowell Girls Club and the Knitting Club at the Dracut Senior Center. She was a former communicant of St. Mary's Church in Dracut and of St. Patrick's Church in Lowell. She volunteered a lot of her time for the Dracut Council on Aging and its store. In her free time, she enjoyed walking, crocheting, knitting, reading, and traveling to Europe with her husband.

Mrs. Tolksdorf is survived by a son, Dr. Warren R. Barclay and his wife, Suzanne of Hudson, NH; a daughter, Patricia A. Murphy and her husband, John R. Murphy, Jr. of Hudson, NH; a sister, Doris Butterfield of Lowell; three grandchildren; Dr. Ryan Barclay and his wife, Melissa of Davenport, Iowa, Allison Barclay of Toronto, Canada, and Patrick Barclay of Hudson, NH. She is also survived by a cousin and godchild, Agnes Laviolette; and many nieces and nephews including Richard and James Morneau, Laura Frenette, Leonard, Stephen, Peter, Edward, and Louis Morneau, and William, Kenneth, Daniel, and Timothy Diskin. She is predeceased by two sisters, Loretta Diskin and Theona Morneau, and a brother Alexander Godbout.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Thursday, May 7 from 4 until 8 PM. Her funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Friday, May 8 at 11 AM, followed by her chapel service to be celebrated at 12 Noon at St. Joseph's Cemetery Chapel in Chelmsford.
