Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON___Teresa (Ciginskas) Adomavicius, 80, of West Boylston, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Knollwood Nursing Center.

She leaves her husband of 36 years, Kazys Adomavicius and several cousins here and in Lithuania. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Anthony and Ellen Ciginskas and was raised in West Boylston. She later lived in Worcester for several years before returning to West Boylston in 1978.

Mrs. Adomavicius was a Benefit Eligibilty Representative many years for the Social Security Administration. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School, Worcester in 1946. She was a member of St. Casimir Church in Worcester and Council 26 Knights of Lithuania. Mrs. Adomavicius was active in the Lithuanian community and was a member and assistant financial secretary of Maironis Park and also served as the assistant general manager for 15 years. Teresa was also a member and past president of the Guild of the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception in Putnam. She was an animal lover.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 6 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence Street, Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, May 5 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Members of Council 26 Knights of Lithuania will meet at 5:30 p.m. during calling hours to conduct their ritual.
