Obituary

BEVERLY: Mary N. Fumarola, 92, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in the Ledgewood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly following a brief illness.
Born in Beverly on August 11, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Carmela (DeAngelis) Fumarola. She was a lifelong resident of Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School.
Mary worked as a hairdresser from her home for many years. She was an active member of the former St. Alphonsus Parish and it’s League of Catholic Women. She was also a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Active at the Beverly Senior Center, she was in the Senior Center Quilters and enjoyed working at bingo. She also loved volunteering and knitting at the Christmas Fairs at the Senior Center and St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.
She is survived by seven nephews, William and his wife, Polly Fumarola, Paul and his wife, Vivian Fumarola, Gary and his wife, Joan Fumarola, Brian Fumarola and his companion, Linda Squibb, Stephen and his wife, Sandy Fumarola, Carl Fumarola and Tom Fumarola, a niece, Patricia and her husband, Dan McDonough and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also predeceased by four brothers and three sisters-in-law, William, Sr. and Elizabeth Fumarola, Garry and Demma Fumarola, Carl and Florence Fumarola and James Pandolphin.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Cabot Street, Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Partner’s Home Care, 800 Cummings Center, Beverly, MA 01915. Interment will be held in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
