Zelma (Arruda) Ferguson, 82, of Westport passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late James H. Ferguson, Sr.
Born in Portugal, daughter of the late Marianno and Georgiana (Soares) Arruda, she grew up in Fall River prior to living in Westport for most of her life. She had been a home health aide for many years until her retirement. Mrs. Ferguson was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Westport. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son: James H. Ferguson, Jr. of Adairsville, GA; 3 daughters: Cheryl J. Lord of Westport, Candice L. Guinen of Tiverton, RI and Lori J. Brown of Fall River; 3 sisters: Mary Clark of Fall River, Ilda Arruda of Fall River and Alice Rezendes of Westport; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Joseph Arruda.
A memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Calvary Bible Church, Westport at 5:00 P.M.
