Obituary

Richard O. Angus, 77, of Assonet passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Crawford Skilled Nursing Home, Fall River. He was the husband of J. Carol Angus, they were married for 54 years.

Born in Providence, RI, son of the late Albert A. and Hulda (Swanson) Angus, he had lived in Assonet since 1966. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement in 1992, he was a project engineer for Rhode Island Hospital. Mr. Angus was a member of the United Church of Assonet. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Including his wife, survivors include 3 sons: Richard O. Angus, Jr. of Sterling, CT, Alan P. Angus of W. Bridgewater and Carl T. Angus of Lakeville; a daughter: Lauren B. Wood of Norfolk, MA; a brother: Melvin Angus of N. Dighton; a sister: Eleanor Reid of N. Dighton; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late Albert Angus and Hubert Angus.

Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, May 1, 2009 at the United Church of Assonet at 11:00 A.M.

Memorial visitation will be Thursday 5 - 8 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
