Obituary


Celia M. (Torrone) Femino, of Malden, formerly of Medford and East Boston, died Saturday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 91.

Mrs. Femino was born in Italy and raised in East Boston and Medford, the daughter of the late Louis and the late Angelina (Vecchio) Torrone. A malden resident for the past 44 years, Celia worked as a seamstress with several of Boston’s clothing manufacturing firms and was a member of the Amalgamated Garment Workers Union.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles P. Femino. She was a devoted mother to Paul L. Femino and his wife Angela of Chelsea, Diane DiChiara and her husband Michael of North Reading, Charles J. Femino and his wife Cyndie of Melrose, Louis A. Femino and his wife Joanne of Wilmington, and the late Angela Femino O’Mahoney formerly of Malden. She is lovingly survived 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John and Anthony Torrone.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
