William R. “Bill” Evans, 78, husband of the former Rose Mary Pfeifer, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009.
Born in Louisville, he was one of 12 children of the late Joseph and Marie Evans. He had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 1181.He had retired from Celenese Chemical Company.
He is survived by his wife Rose Mary Evans; children, Regina Marshall, Jennifer Henning (Leo), George Evans (Angela) and Vickie Smothers; step-children, Jim Hearn (Cheryl), Teresa Hulsman (Tod) and Windy Hearn; brothers, George and John Evans; a sister, Maxine Nelson; 15 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two expected great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 pm Monday.
