Obituary

Rosalie C. (Chwalek) Kairys, 86, of Marion died Wednesday July 2, 2003 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph P. Kairys.

Born and raised in Ludlow, the daughter of the late John and Ann (Chrzan) Chwalek, she had lived in Easton for 24 years before moving to Marion in 1983.

She was a communicant of St. Rita's Church in Marion.

Mrs. Kairys was formerly employed as a registered nurse at the Jane Brown Memorial and Butler Hospitals in Providence, and at Lakeville Hospital in Lakeville.

She was a member of the Holy Cross Women's Club in South Easton, the Catholic Charities Guild of Brockton and the Browning Club of Brockton.

Survivors include 2 sons, Dr. Joseph P. Kairys, Jr, of Marion, and Dr. John C. Kairys of Westmont, New Jersey; a brother, Rev. John C. Chwalek of Windsor; a sister, Helen Perlak of Ludlow; and 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Kairys and Lauren Ann Kairys.She was the sister of the late Monsignor Charles Chwalek, Edward Chwalek, Sr. Mary Lauretta and Sr. Mary Regina.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Monday July 7, 2003 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Rita's Church, Marion at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday July 6, 2003 from 4-7 PM. Burial will be in Little Neck Cemetery, Marion. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Nurse & Hospice Care, P.O.
