Irene (Rapoza) Travassos, age 88 of Fall River & previously Swansea. Passed away April 23, 2009 after 25 years suffering with Parkinson’s Disease. Widow of Manuel Travassos and daughter of the late Antone and Margaret (Moreira) Rapoza. She was a retired speeder tender at the Sagamore Mill and was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Church.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Geraldine Machado and husband Joseph “Chipper” Machado and Sheila Beaudoin and husband David Beaudoin all of Fall River; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Raposa, Eva Cordeiro and Julio Rapoza.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. MONDAY at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Good Shepherd Church at 9 A.M. Calling hours SUNDAY 4-7 P.M.
