Obituary

Charles E. "Charlie" Fecteau, age 87, of Lowell, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his home in Lowell on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 after a short illness.

He was born in Epping, NH on October 21, 1921, a son of the late Placide and Alfread Fecteau. Charlie enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940 and served under Patton's Third Army during WWII. Upon his honorable discharge in 1945, he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, Honorable Service Lapel Button and Marksman Badge with Carbine & Rifle Bar. He was a member of the VFW Post 662 and the DLKV club in Lowell.

Prior to his retirement, Charlie was employed with Raytheon in Bedford for 17 years. He enjoyed country music and watching professional wrestling, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and his dog, Cindy.

He is survived by his loving children, Frances (Gagnon) Daley, Edward Charles Fecteau, both of Lowell, William Fecteau and his wife, Ann Marie of Wilmington, Florence Teague and her husband, William and Doreen Lomme, all of Lowell; a sister, Gertrude Jasley of Merrimack, MA; also 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Gerard, Jospeh and Louis Fecteau.

Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Thursday, April 23 from 4 to 7pm. His funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Friday morning at 9 o'clock followed by a graveside service at St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell at 10 o'clock.
