SALEM- Carroll J. Zdanowicz, 87, husband of the late Stacia A. “Stacy” (Borek) Zdanowicz, of Salem, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 3, 2000 in the Salem Hospital following a long illness.
Born in Salem, he was the daughter of the late Victor and Josephine (Gawrys) Zdanowicz.
Mr Zdanowicz was a Navy Veteran of WWII and attained the rating of Motor Machinist’s Mate first Class.
Prior to his retirement in the late 1980's, he owned Supreme Auto Sales in Beverly where he operated an automobile and yacht wholesale business for over 45 years.
He was a graduate of Salem High School and lived in Salem or Marblehead all of his life. He was an avid boatman and was a member of the Bass Haven Yacht Club in Beverly and the Salem Willows Yacht Club in Salem.
He is survived by one sister, Jan LaChapelle of Salem, three sisters-in-law, Virginia Borek and Jennie J. Zdanowicz, both of Danvers, Helen Crowley of Marblehead, two first cousins, Helen McIsaac of Peabody, Jane Mansell of Salem, three nieces Lorraine Allison of Salem, Carolyn Smith of Danvers, Ann Dunbar of Beverly, three nephews, David LaChapelle and Peter LaChapelle, both of Salem, Robert Nagle of Florida and Peter Crowley of Beverly. He was the brother of the late Stanley Zdanowicz, Edward Zdanowicz and Alice Nagle.
His funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 5, 2000 at 8 AM from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 9 AM at St John The Baptist Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 PM. Burial will be in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
