Obituary

SALEM- John D. MacDonald, 84, husband of 50 years of Marion G. (Calder) MacDonald, of Willow Avenue, Salem, died Tuesday, November 21, 2000 in the Sunbridge Nursing Home, Lynn, following a long illness.

Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late John L. and Anna (Kreb) MacDonald and was a graduate of Beverly High School. He was a resident of Salem for most of his life.

He was an Army veteran of WWII and attained the rank of Tec 5.

Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was a bricklayer by trade for 50 years and was a member of the Bricklayers, Masons & Plasterers International Union of America.

Besides his wife Marion, he is survived by one brother, Roy MacDonald of Palm Harbor, Florida, one sister, Laura Archibald of Beverly, several nieces and nephews and close friends, Stephen and Nancy Barry of Rowley. He was the brother of the late Vincent MacDonald.

Funeral services are private. For those who desire, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements by the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem.
