WORCESTER___Louis R. “Sonny” Vizzo, Jr., 70, of Worcester, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 in his home. His wife of 45 years, whom he loved and adored, Alice E. (Turgeon) Vizzo died in 2004.
He leaves two sons, John R. Vizzo and his wife Marie of Worcester and Michael P. Vizzo and his wife Jodi of Shrewsbury; a daughter, DonnaMarie Serra and her husband, David of Worcester; five grandchildren, Angela, Anthony, Michael, Gino and Isabella Rose, a brother, Gerald Vizzo of Florida and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Vizzo in 2002. He was born in Worcester, a son of Louis R. Vizzo, Sr., and Jenny (Villa) Vizzo and had lived here all his life.
Mr. Vizzo was a truck driver many years for Teamsters Local 170 and retired several years ago. Previously, he was a corrections officer for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Louis loved spending time with his family, his children and grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 22 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, April 21 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
