Worcester- Vincent J. "Bill" Marcelonis, 78, of Worcester, died Monday, June 30, in the Stanley R. Tippett Hospice Home, Needham.
His wife of 49 years, Doris C. (Lange) Marcelonis, died in 1998. He leaves two daughters, Patricia F. Brooks of Wilbraham, and Joyce L. Marcelonis of Charlton; his faithful companion, Tootsie; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Charles Marcelonis and Joseph Marcelonis, predeceased him. Two sisters, Victoria Krakowski and Stacia Card, also predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Peter and Victoria (Starknus) Marcelonis and lived here all his life.
Mr. Marcelonis worked at the Elfskin Corporation, Cherry Valley for 35 years. He later worked at Nylco Corporation, Clinton for 13 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He enjoyed polka dancing and playing the accordion. He also enjoyed country music. He repairing small appliances and automobiles.
The funeral will be held Thursday, July 3, from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Service, 33 Ward Street (www.worcesterfuneral.com), with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John's Church, 40 Temple Street. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, in the funeral home.
