Obituary

Charles M. Winiewicz, Jr., 71, of Whitman, died Thursday April 17th in the South Shore Hospital, after a brief illness. Charles was the beloved husband of Rose (Terzian) Winiewicz. He was born in Weymouth and grew up in Abington, son of the late Charles M. and Jeannette (Borz) Winiewicz, Sr. He was a graduate of Abington High School. Charles was a veteran of the United States Marines, he served his country for four years. Charles has been a resident of Whitman for 25 years and he and his wife Rose were the founders of the Whitman Pride Committee, which is involved in the beautification of Whitman, by placing flowers at local businesses and intersections around the town. He was the head grower of their business, Terzian Stand and Greenhouses in Whitman, also known as “Grower’s Grower”.
In addition to his beloved wife Rose, he is survived by his brothers, Frank Winiewicz and his wife Jeannie of Abington and Andrew Winiewicz and his wife Judith of East Bridgewater, his sister-in-law Marjorie Terzian of Whitman; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Brian Winiewicz.
Private services will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Whitman Food Pantry C/O Holy Ghost Rectory, Washington Street, Whitman, MA. 02382 or to a Charity of One’s Choice.
