Edna Goodwin Perkins, 61, passed away April 13, 2009 in Water Valley, MS, at her residence. She was born to the late Alfred Clyde and Mildred Starks Nichols in Serepta, MS. She was a homemaker and a member of Sand Hill Methodist Church in Yalobusha County, MS.
The visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 5 to 7 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. The funeral service will be held in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 with Rev. Virgil Lynn Nelson and Rev. Roger Hunter officiating. The committal will be held in Antioch Cemetery in Calhoun County, MS with J. P. Nelson, Robbie Goodwin, David Adams, Billy Goodwin, Randy Nelson, and Mack Files serving as pallbearers. Philip Ross will be an honorary pallbearer.
Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband, Guy B. Perkins of Water Valley, MS; daughters, Kathy Goad (Travis), Melissa Goodwin, Carolyn Kelly (Gary), and Melinda Files (Mack) all of Water Valley, MS; son, Bobby Goodwin (Alma) of Water Valley, MS; sisters, Linda Doolin of Bruce, MS, Lucille Melton of Bruce, MS and Eva Dover of Sardis, MS; brother, A. C. Nichols of Portage, IN; nine grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Will Goodwin; step-son, Chris Elmore; and a brother, Steve Nichols.
