Estella V. Travers, 74

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Estella V. (Savini) Travers, 74, of Mansfield passed away on Monday April 13, 2009 surrounded by her loving family at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Travers. Mr. and Mrs. Travers recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 4, 2009.
Born in Boston, MA on October 20, 1934 she was a daughter of the late Almando S. and Estella V. (Cotter) Savini.
She grew up in Stoughton, was educated in Stoughton parochial schools and was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph’s Academy in Brighton. She furthered her studies by attending Boston University where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
A familiar face in the real estate market, Mrs. Travers was a Real Estate Salesperson for over 20 years and spent most of her career working for Century 21 Realty before retiring. She was proud of her accomplishments as a realtor and after retirement always maintained her broker’s license. When she was younger she assisted her family in the operation of the former Savini’s Easton 138 Motel in Easton.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Estella and her family enjoyed the wonderful times spent staying at the Bourne Scenic Park in Bourne and taking in the beauty of the Cape Cod Canal. She loved spending time with family and especially those with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included quilting, knitting, solving crossword puzzles and she was a fluent traveler. A resident of Mansfield for over 40 years she had formerly lived in Easton and was a native of Stoughton.
In addition to her beloved husband Bob, she is survived by her devoted children Kathleen M. Reynolds of Mansfield, Kerri L. Travers and her companion Jack Hardiman of Bridgewater, Robert E. Travers of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Kelley J. Travers of Mansfield and the late Mark E. Travers. She was the cherished grandmother of Taarin T. Haggard and her husband Rocky of Bridgewater, Zachariah A. Travers and Colton B. Travers both of Ocean Springs Mississippi and Faith M. Reynolds, Maeve M. Reynolds, Kay M. Reynolds and Rena M. Travers all of Mansfield. She was the sister of Mary LaPorte of Onset and Kathleen Hern Hall of Florida and is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday April 17th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers those wishing may remember Estella with a donation in her memory made to the charity of ones choice.
