M. Margarida (Sousa) Araujo, 59, of Raynham, died on April 12, 2009 after a brief battle with cancer.
Margarida was born, raised and educated in St. Michael, Azores and had made her home in Bridgewater, Taunton and most recently in Raynham for the past 40 years.
Margarida worked at Merotta Power Solutions (formerly Datel Inc.) for over 20 years.
She was the daughter of the late José and Evangelina Sousa.
Margarida loved life, dancing to lively Portuguese music, going to the beach, cooking and spending time with her family and her dog Snowy.
She was the wife of Carlos Araujo and the loving mother of Nelson Araujo and his wife Linda of East Taunton and Eldo Araujo and his wife Amanda of Taunton.
She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to Cassandra and Vanessa Araujo of East Taunton.
Beloved sister of Maria Joana Baganha, José Carlos Sousa and Maria do Carmo Moreira of Bridgewater and Maria da Conceicao Boleates of Fall River and beloved sister-in-law of Deolindo Araujo of Vancouver, Lucilia de Silva, Henrique and Manuel Araujo of British Columbia, José and Antonio Araujo of Ontario.
Margarida was also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (Rte. 138) on Thursday, April 16th at 8 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
