Obituary

Marie F. (Rawson) Farren, 70, of Medford, died April 10, 2009 at the Woodbriar of Wilmington.
Mrs. Farren was born in Medford on June 28, 1938, daughter of the late James and Eleanor (Walker) Rawson. She was a lifelong resident of Medford. She graduated from Matignon High School, Cambridge, Aquinas Junior College, Newton, and received her B.A. and Master’s degree from Suffolk University, Boston and her Doctorate degree in Public Health from Tufts University, Medford.

She was employed with the John Hancock Insurance Co. in the No. Andover office; also worked for many years with the office of Dr. David Cohen, Neurologist, of Melrose. She was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order of St. Anthony Shrine, Boston. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Medford.

Her surviving family members include her loving children, Brenda Farren of Melrose, Mark Farren and his wife, Lauren of Nashua, NH and Michael Farren of Malden; grandchildren, Ryan and Cameron Farren of St. Augustine, FL, and Kayla and Kelsie Farren of Nashua, NH; sister, Kathleen Kelley of Florence; former wife of Edward P. Farren, Jr. of Center Ossipee, NH; and several nieces and nephews

Her funeral services were held Wednesday, April 15, from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi funeral home, at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Fellsway West, Medford at 10:00 AM.

Visiting hours were held on Tuesday in the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Many relatives and friends attended.
