Marblehead: Arlene C. (Harrison) Pelletier age 75 passed away at home, in her sleep, Friday, April 10, 2009. She was the wife of Robert E. Pelletier, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Rene J. and Clara (Marquis) Harrison. Married to Bob in 1955, the couple moved to Chicago where she worked as an executive assistant for Magee Carpet Co. at the corporate headquarters. She and Bob returned to Salem in 1962 when she left the business world to devote time to her family.
In 1969 they moved to Marblehead and, shortly after, she began working in setting up transportation for the Council on Aging, a job which expanded into organizing the Meals on Wheels program for Marblehead seniors. Arlene, always gracious and with a smile on her face, was extremely devoted to her family and senior citizens. She also volunteered in providing recreational and physical fitness activities for Lafayette Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in Marblehead.
A close runner up in her love for her family and those people she worked with, was her passion for golf and bridge playing. She will be greatly missed by all who were touched by her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 daughters, Roberta L. Pelletier of Salem, Laurie A. Packard and her husband Daniel of Georgetown, 2 grandchildren, Sydney & Jensen Packard, a sister, Laurie St. Lawrence of Severna Park, MD. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Arlene was predeceased by her brother Richard Harrison.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163, Lafayette St., [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. to be followed by her funeral service at 4 p.m.
