In Taunton, April 11, 2009 Charles E. died after a lengthy illness at the age of 77. He was the son of the late Leo J.& Marquerite (Concannon) Farrell. Charles was born in Dighton and educated in Taunton, where he has lived his entire life. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. He was first employed at the Taunton Fire Dept. and then Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant for over 20 years. Charles was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and enjoyed playing pool and was known to many for bar tending in many local establishments. He leaves his children Robert C. of Taunton, James E. of Hyannis, Michael J. of Sandwich and John L. Farrell of Hyannis and Susan M. Ewing of Winter Haven, FL. Charles also leaves his twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. His sister W. Anne Quinzani of Wellesley and his late brother Phillip J. Farrell. His sister-in-law Jean Farrell of Middleboro. His former wife Janet Farrell of Fort Myers, FL. and his long time companion Joan Descoteaux. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA. on Wednesday, April 15th at 10am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday from 5-8pm. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
