Theresa M. (Tkachuk) Mentus, 93, of Kristopher Drive, Hampstead, NH died Friday June 27, 2003 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH following a brief illness. She was born in the Ukraine on August 22, 1909, a daughter of the late Stephen and Maria (Sawchuk) Tkachuk. She was a resident of Hampstead since 1982, formerly living in Peabody, MA. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church, Derry, where she attended several bible study groups and helped with AWANA. She was a prayer warrior and prayed for over 800 people daily. She was a member of the Friends of the Library in Hampstead. She was predeceased by her husband Rev. John E. Mentus in1987.
She is survived by two sons, Charles “Skip” Mentus and his wife Margaret of Arden, NC, John P Mentus and his wife Joyce of Riverside, RI, one daughter, Elaine F. Cail and her husband John of Kalamazoo, MI, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Anna Sherman of Holden, MA, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 1st at 1:00pm at the Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Road, Derry. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missions at Calvary Bible Church, 145 Hampstead Road, Derry, NH 03038 or to the Calvary Baptist Church, 4 Coolidge Road, Peabody, MA 01960.
