Fratus, Rev. James F. of Dorchester, formerly of Somerville, April 8, 2009. Beloved son of James F. & Alice (Aylward) of Somerville. Loving brother of Ellen Norris & her husband Alan of Stoneham, Carol Hodgkins & her husband Robert of Somerville, and Pamela Szymkowski & her husband Roman Seain of Lynn. Cherished uncle of Alan Jr. and Kristine Norris, Roman Szymkowski, and Danielle Hodgkins. Also survived by 3 great nieces.
Fr. Fratus will lie in state in St. Brendan’s Church, 589 Gallivan Blvd., DORCHESTER, on Monday from 2-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated Tuesday afternoon at 12:30. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private.
Fr. Fratus was ordained at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston on June 20, 1981. He went on to serve at St. Martha’s Church in Ashland, and St. Cecelia Church in Plainville, he then served as Chaplin at MCI Concord, and later, St. Rose of Lima Church in Chelsea, before becoming Pastor of St. Brendan Church.
