Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Dana R. Perry, 59, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009 surrounded by his family following a brief illness. He was the husband of Sandra J. (Noble) Perry.
Born in Ipswich on June 19, 1949, he was the son of the late William and Barbara V. (Wilson) Perry. He had resided is Gloucester most of his life. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was the proud recipient of two Bronze Stars and several Medals of Valor.
Dana was employed for thirty-one years as a math and science teacher at the Gloucester Vocational High School and became the automotive shop instructor before his retirement in 2006.
He loved spending time scuba diving with his wife, spending time with his grandchildren, and hanging out with his buddies. He enjoyed his vintage cars, especially driving around town in his 1956 impeccable white Ford Thunderbird.
In addition to his wife of thirty-eight years, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Gwen R. Perry of San Francisco, CA and Tracy J. and Dr. Mark P. Gilligan of Hamilton, a son, Timothy D. Perry of Gloucester, four grandchildren, Emily, Connor, Kaitlyn and Kelly Gilligan all of Hamilton, a brother, Frank W. and his wife, Mikel Perry, his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Virginia Noble, two sisters-in-law, Linda and her husband, Sterling Abram and Geraldine Noble-Cronin, four brothers-in-law, Stephen and his wife, Dee Noble, Scott and his wife, Maria Noble, Chris and his wife, Cathy Noble and Timothy Noble, Dana’s lifelong friends, Bruce Johnson, Tony Guarassi and Jack Sultan and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral services will be held on Saturday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday evening from 4 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the Seaside Cemetery, Lanesville.
