Arthur Albert Wood, 83, Clarksville, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be held at 12 noon Friday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Terry Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home at the funeral home.
Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born April 20, 1925 in Pepperell, Massachusetts son of the late Albert Thomas Wood and Cora Abie Fuller Wood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Alida Wood, a son, Bill A. Wood; and his special friend Pat Parker..
He was retired from the US Army and served during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War.
Survivors include son, David Wood, Clarksville; daughter, Lavonda Mensing, Overland Park, KS; daughter, Odessa Rericha, Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He leaves behind fond memories of family, friends, his dogs, Binkin and Snoopy, and his love for gardening.
Members of the military will serve as pallbearers at Resthaven.
