MALDEN - Helen E. Kilgannon, age 79, a lifelong Malden resident with family in Tewksbury, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 2, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
She was born in Everett, May 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Edwin and Anna (McLaughlin) Kilgannon, but was raised in Malden, where she remained throughout her life. In her later years she was active in the Malden Senior Community.
She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and William Kolek Jr. of Tewksbury; two nephews, Brian Kolek and his wife Ann (McGinley) Kolek of Westford; Craig Kolek of Merrimack, NH; two great nephews, Christopher and Thomas; and a grand niece, Elizabeth.
She was also aunt of the late William Kolek III.
Her Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, April 8, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial was in Lowell Cemetery. Memorials to the Oblate Father's Infirmary Fund, 486 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876 will be appreciated.
