Mrs. Maryann Amato, 88 of Medford died Thursday in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Amato. Mrs. Amato was born in Boston, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Baldassari) Butare. In earlier years she worked as a Medical Records Analyst in the former Malden Hospital. She enjoyed cooking great meals for her family gatherings and dancing. Mrs Amato was a gentle woman with great passion for her family. A loving mother and grandmother she took exceptional pride in her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. In addition, she and her husband were the Foster parents to Robbie and 26 other Foster children throughout the years. She leaves a daughter, Cheryl Ann Antonelli and her husband Ralph of Arlington, a son Richard J. Amato and his wife Judith Ann of NH. and is the loving grandmother of Susan Antonelli, Tracy Antonelli and her husband Patrick Mooty. Dear sister of Ann Iamelli and her husband Albert of Everett and the late Louis, Joseph, John, Anthony and Angelo Butare, Helen Perry and Jennie Hatch. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Monday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
