Jerry Mckinney, 76, Clarksville, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Brother Tom Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. A committal will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 6 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He ws born October 5, 1932 in Shell Creek, TN, son of the late Ernest Pierce McKinney and Ethel Shell McKinney. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances McLean. Mr. McKinney was a retired combat medic with the US Army. He served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He was a retired teamster and active farmer. Survivors include his wife, Anneliese Scheerer McKinney, Clarksville; a son, Mike McKinney (Ginger), Maryville, TN; three daughters, Kathy Miller (Tim), Homer, GA; Carolyn Brown (Kent), Clarksville; and Christa Huntley (Scott); Zephyr Hill, FL; two brothers, Gene and Jack McKinney; and seven grandchildren.
