Miriam R. Young, 81 of Mattapoisett died March 31, 2009 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence C. "Larry" Young.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred (Humphrey) Jason, she lived in Mattapoisett most of her life.
Mrs. Young was a member of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church, the Women's Guild, the Mattapoisett Woman's Club and the Marion Art Center. She bowled with the Woman's Club Bowling League for many years. Mrs. Young enjoyed painting, artwork, local theater, swimming, camping with her family, and traveling with her late husband, Larry.
She was formerly employed by Avon as a saleswoman for many years and participated in the weekly publication of the Presto Press.
Mrs. Young leaves behind a legacy of caring and personal connection. She was one of those people who made everyone she encountered feel special. The simple things brought her joy -- most importantly her family and friends.
