Beloved Aunt and Great Aunt
TEWKSBURY, MA: Gladys Louise Jenkins, age 84, a recent resident of Tewksbury, MA, formerly of Dracut, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2009 at her home, with her family by her side.
Born in Cambridge, MA on March 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Jessie E. (MacLennan) Jenkins.
Gladys was raised in Cambridge and attended Cambridge schools.
She resided in the Allston area of Boston for over 50 years until moving to Dracut in 1997.
For the last several months, she has resided with her niece in Tewksbury.
Prior to her retirement in 1984, she was employed as a packer for the New England Confectionary Company in Cambridge, where she worked for 43 years.
She is survived by her niece, Joan H. (Jenkins) Andrews, with whom she resided, of Tewksbury; MA also many grand nieces and grand nephews.
Ms. Jenkins was the sister of the late Earl Jenkins, Walter “Russell” Jenkins, William D., Donald and Louise Jenkins and aunt of the late William “Earl” Jenkins, Warren G. Andrews and Carol Matheson.
Calling hours Friday, April 3rd, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4th, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Greater Lowell VNA-Hospice, P.O. Box 1965, Lowell, MA 01853 are suggested.
