Leo P. Judge of West Roxbury and Pocasset, died on March 30, 2009 at the age of 91. He was born August 11, 1917 in Boston MA, son of the late Thomas Judge of County Sligo, and Antoinette Racine of Quebec,Canada. He served with Patton’s army in Italy during World War II and retired as a Major in the Army Reserve. A graduate of Boston University, Leo was Dean of Students at Newton Junior College for 20 years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating and regular jogs around Jamaica Pond, Millenium Park and Cape Cod beaches. Over the years, Leo participated in many road races and fundraisers, including The Mission Hill and Milk Run in Boston.For 20 years,he walked 20 miles for The Good Friday (Sharing) Project.As a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program, Leo drove patients to treatment. He also volunteered at the Bourne Food Pantry. Leo was the beloved husband of Shirley (Ray) Judge for over 60 Years. Devoted father of Maureen and Bill Branca of Weymouth, David and Donna Judge of East Bridgewater,Daniel and Diane Judge of West Roxbury,Leo and Kathy Judge of West Roxbury, Paul and Laura Judge of Dedham, Marilyn Judge and Stephen Vogt of West Roxbury,Marybeth and Jim McGaffigan of Hyde Park, Michael Judge of West Roxbury and the late Peter Judge. Dear grandfather of Nicole and Marc Branca, Peter, David, Timothy Judge, Samantha and Jenessa Vogt, Kevin and Sarah McGaffigan, Amanda and Brian Judge, Gabrielle Chalifoux.Brother of the late Oliver Judge and Jerome Judge. Visiting hours will be Friday April 3, 2009 from 4-8 pm in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St.,West Roxbury. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10 AM in St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington St. West Roxbury.
