Sylvia Mae Newport, 75 years old, a resident of Lowell for the past thirty three years, died Saturday morning at her residence in Lowell.
Born in Swampscott, MA on February 24, 1934 she was a daughter of the late James S. and Mary (Gillon) Newport.
For over twenty years, Sylvia worked at the Goodwill Industries here in Lowell. She was an avid Barbie collector and loved to knit, play bingo and was fond of animals. Sylvia had a zest for life and lived every day to the fullest.
She was the last surviving member of her family but is survived by her extended family and housemates, Eric, Fernando, James, Joshua and Michael and the loving staff and friends of the M.H.A of Greater Lowell and Life Links.
NEWPORT- Friends may call Thursday morning at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST..LOWELL from 10 am until her Funeral Service at 11:30 AM. Burial will take place at the Catholic Cemetery in Salem, Ma at a later date. Arrangements are by the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, LOWELL
