Edward L. (Ted) Nichols, 89, Clarksville, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Fieldstone Place. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Chaplain Ward Carver officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born November 21, 1919 in Shelbyville, TN son of the late Graden Edward Nichols and Archie Grooms Nichols. Mr. Nichols was retired from the US Army. He served during World War II, 82nd Airborne and the Korean Conflict, 187th Infantry Regiment Rakkasan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Elizabeth Nichols and his son, Ted Nichols.
Survivors include a daughter, Jamye Norman and husband John, Newburgh, IN; one grandchild, Shawn Norman; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Brennan Norman.
