Plympton – John T. English 57 formerly of Whitman died Monday March 30 in his Plympton home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Hayes) English.
Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman he was the son of Mary (Hogg) English of Plympton and the late Robert J. English, and a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High, Class of 1969.
While John was a member of the Whitman community he had been a town selectman, serving as chairman. He had been a resident of Plympton for the past 22 years and was a member of the Planning Board.
He had been employed at Kenneth F. Parry and Associates before becoming a self-employed architect for many years.
John was a loving husband and father, who was loved by many.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his children Kelsey English and Shawn English both of Plympton, and Christian English of North Carolina, his brother Robert English of Hanover, and his grandson Ian English of N. Carolina.
His funeral service will be held Friday April 3 at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a service at 10 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Thursday April 2 from 4-8 PM.
