Taunton, Antonio “Tony” Vazquez, a Taunton resident for over fourteen years, died suddenly Friday, March 27th 2009 at Morton Hospital Medical Center. He was 74 years of age. He was the loving husband of Carmen (Roldan) Vazquez of Taunton. He was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Son of the late Angel Vazquez and Carmen (Crespo) Vazquez. He was employed for twenty years with the city of New Bedford in the cemetery department prior to retiring many years ago. He also worked for a period time for the cranberry bogs in the Carver area. He worked as a carpenter when residing in Puerto Rico. Prior to moving to Taunton he lived in New Bedford for a period of time. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking. He also enjoyed listening to country music, watching old western movies, and working on his car. In addition to his wife he leaves on son Antonio Vazquez of Taunton. He also leaves four sisters Esther, Manola, Maria, and Aida Vazquez all of Puerto Rico. Also the brother of the late Jorge Vazquez. He leaves one granddaughter Deanna Vazquez of Taunton. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 1st 2009 at 11:30am at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St (off Tremont St). Relatives and friends invited to attend.
