Jesup - Mrs. Catherine C. Anderson, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup.
She was a native of Floyd County and had lived in Jesup most of her life. She was an active member of the Altamaha Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School, was a member and former president of the W.M.U., and a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Anderson and two of her daughters, Jan Anderson and Louise McLendon.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol & John Dietz of Fayetteville, Ga., Marian & Lin Laviano of El Toro, Calif., and Ellen & Harold Moore of Brunswick, Ga.; one son, Joe Anderson of Jesup; one brother, Seaborn Cowan of Jesup; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Altamaha Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Adult Sunday School Class of Altamaha Baptist Church.
