Blair, Bryce H. passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on March 27, 2009 in Hingham, formerly of Duxbury. Bryce was married to the late Margaret "Peggy" (Lynch) Blair for over 50 years.
Bryce was a decorated WWII combat veteran who served for 3 years in the US Army. After serving proudly in the Army, he attended and graduated from Indiana University School of Business in 1949. He then became a Special Agent in the FBI, where he met and then married his wife Peggy, who also worked at the FBI. Bryce left the FBI after four years and pursued a business career which ultimately led him into the silver industry. He spent 16 years with Gorham Silversmiths and 34 years with Reed & Barton Silversmiths. He retired in 1994 as Vice President of Sales for Reed & Barton. After retiring, Bryce and Peggy spent many great years wintering in Naples, FL. They made many good friends and enjoyed having family and friends visit them often. During his retirement Bryce became a member of the Duxbury Yacht Club where he was an active golfer and boater.
Bryce spent the last three years in Hingham at Linden Ponds where he made many great friends including his good friend and companion Elizabeth Harvey. He thrived at Linden Ponds and looked forward everyday to socializing with friends and neighbors.
Bryce is survived by his six children who dearly loved him; Lisa & Dan Corcoran of Weymouth, Maggi & Tony Virginio of Hingham, Bryce & Kathi Blair of Hingham, Kit & Chris McCourt of Scituate, Chris & Candy Blair of Morrisson, CO, and Patrick & Jill Blair of Hingham. He is also survived by his sister Joan Christ of Northbrook, IL, his 15 beloved grandchildren and his companion Elizabeth Harvey of Hingham.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday from 9 AM - 10:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.
Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main St., Hingham Monday at 11 AM.
Burial at a later date will be private.
