Ruth I. (Butwillus) Trahan, age 81, passed away Wednesday March 25th at the D'Youville Senior Care.
Ruth was born May 9, 1927 in Berlin, Germany a daughter of the late Gustav and Wilhelmina Butwillus. She was a Lowell resident for most of her life and enjoyed gardening. She enjoyed being with her family and caring for them.
She leaves her loving husband of 56 years, Mr. Joseph G. Trahan of Lowell; two sons, Lawrence Trahan and his wife Carol of Hampstead, NH, Gerald Trahan, of Litchfield, NH,; two daughters, Laurette Trahan ofBoston, MA and Juliette Trahan of Tyngsboro, MA; three grandchildren, Dawn Raposa and her husband Shawn, of Sandown, NH, Dana Trahan, of Hampstead, NH and Bradford Trahan and his wife Yorn of Springfield, MA; seven great grandchildren, Drew and Kaitlyn Raposa, Mikayla Trahan, Athena, Amelia and Ariel Trahan; and Brady Trahan ; also several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Suzette Trahan who died Dec. 20, 2008 and the sister of the late Werner Butwillus and Edith Butwillus.
Relatives and friends will be received at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Friday from 5 to 8 pm. Her funeral will take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday with a prayer serviceat 10 am. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
