Obituary

Woburn, Michael J. Kane Jr., age 77 of Woburn passed away Monday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford, following a brief illness. Mr. Kane was born in Woburn, the son of the late Michael and the late Martha (Kelly) Kane. He was a life long resident of Woburn and worked for forty-five years as a manager in the printing department of the John Hancock Insurance Co. Mr. Kane was also a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Mr. Kane loved boating and golfing and was a member and former secretary of the Mystic Wellington Yacht Club in Medford. Mr. Kane was a member of Woburn´s Tiwanda Club, the Irish-American Club of Malden and was an Honorary member of the Woburn Host Lions Club. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Kane´s memory to the MA Lions Eye Research Fund, Inc., PO BOX 6050, New Bedford, MA 02742.

Mr. Kane is survived by his beloved wife Eugenia M. (McLaughlin), two sons; Michael Kane III and James Kane both of Woburn and a daughter, Marie Hill of Sanford, ME. He was the loving grandfather of Robert Hill Jr. and Christine Hill both of Maine. Mr. Kane is also survived by his brother William Kane of Waltham and a sister Mary Lynch of Medford. He is preceaded in death by his sister, the late Jeanette Dowd.

Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd. Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 2-4 & 7-9. Services will cocnlude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
