Earl B. Wordell, 76, of Long Highway, Little Compton passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Warren Healthcare Center in Warren, RI. He was the husband of Judith Mae (Smith) Wordell and the late Mary (Ethier) Wordell.
Born in Little Compton, son of the late George and Minerva (Borden) Wordell, he was a lifelong resident of Little Compton. Mr. Wordell was a member of the Little Compton Fire Department for 44 years, serving as the Deputy Fire Chief. An avid hunter, he was a life member of the Little Compton Game Club. He was a member of the Little Compton Grange # 32 and the I.O.O.F.
Including his wife, survivors include 8 sons: Theodore, Earl G., Donald, Richard, Dana, George, Earl B. and Brian Wordell, all of Little Compton; 2 daughters: Ann Marie Edmonds of AL and Lisa Jean Rodrigues of Little Compton; many grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Edmond Wordell and Emma F. Anderson.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton.
