Daniel Netto Jr., age 86, of Fall River passed away March 25, 2009. Husband of the late Louise (Mello) Netto and son of the late Daniel and Maria (Massa Arruda) Netto Sr. He was parishioner of St. Joseph Church, a lifelong Fall River resident, and a WWII Marine Corp veteran. He had worked at the Sagamore Mill and then as a custodian at the Fall River Public Library and a custodian and heavy equipment operator for the Fall River School Department. He was an avid fisherman, a charter member of the Linesiders Bass Club and the Somerset Progressive Club. He worked with the retired and disabled veterans. He was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society transporting patients. He also placed flags on the graves of veterans in Fall River cemeteries.
He is survived by Daughter: Rosemary Gasperini of Fall River; Granddaughter: Andrea Gasperini and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary C. Oliver, Evelyn Gaspar and Aristides Netto.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Saturday at 9 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-8 P.M.
