METHUEN - Daniel “Dan” F. English 93 died Monday March 23, 2009 at Caritas Holy Family Hospital.
Born and educated in Lawrence he was the son of James A. and Anna (Gallagher) English. He graduated from Lawrence High School Class of 1933 and St. Johns Prep Class of 1935. He then received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Anselms College in Manchester, NH. During World War II He served in the U.S. Army. with the 106th infantry involved in the Battle of the Bulge and was honorably discharged. For 30 years he was a lab technician with the H.P. Hood and Son’s Company.
Mr. English was an active parishioner at St. Monica’s Church. He enjoyed traveling to Bermuda, Ireland, going to Hampton Beach during the summer, doing yard work. More importantly to Daniel was spending quality time with his family.
A longtime Methuen resident ,Mr. English was married to the late Doris S. (Lahey) English, most recently is survived by his wife Mary A. (Charlesworth) English of Methuen.
Children Elaine M. Galarneau of Lawrence, MA, Thomas J. and his wife Jacquelyn M. English of Manchester, NH and John J. and his wife Karen A. English of Methuen, MA.
Grandchildren, Thomas, Anne, James, Sarah, John, Daniel, Erin and Matthew.
9 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Daniel was predeceased by his son Daniel F., Jr., and brother James A. English.

Pollard Funeral Hone, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:00 o’clock in St. Monica’s Church Methuen with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen, MA.
