Obituary

WEBSTER ā€“ James G. Norton, 67, of Webster, died Monday, March 23, at home.

He leaves his wife of 41 years, Pauline L. (Gregoire) Norton; 3 daughters, Danielle M. Norton and her husband James E. Dickman of Beverly; Susan L. Maddalena and her husband James A. of Putnam, CT, and Karen N. Gregorczyk and her husband Scott J. of Paxton; 6 grandchildren, Katie and Haley Maddalena, Ava and James Dickman, and Joseph and Keegan Gregorczyk; a brother, Laurence E. Norton of Webster; 2 sisters, Marilyn N. Kartkutt and her husband Richard of Westerly, RI and Kathleen N. Lipski of Webster; 8 nephews and nieces.

He was born in Webster, son of Gerald H. and Marion (Haggerty) Norton and lived here most of his life. He graduated from Saint Louis High School in 1959 and attended Nichols College in Dudley.

He was an Air Force veteran, serving as an air traffic controller in England in the 1960ā€™s.

Mr. Norton was a machinist at Gould & Eberhardt in Webster. He then was a meat cutter at Park ā€˜Nā€™ Shop in Auburn before retiring due to illness. He lived to fish.

The funeral will be held Saturday, March 28, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be private. A calling period will be from 8:15 to 9:15 AM Saturday, March 28, in the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to the Webster Lake Association, PO Box 156, Webster, MA 01570-0156.
